Informatics Applications Developer

Specializes in advanced search, recommendation, discovery and contextual matching. SeeqPod's technology is based on biomimetic approaches developed at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, relying on context and identification of hidden relationships in digital content and data. SeeqPod has developed applications in a number of verticals including life sciences, business and media.

Applications. Primary areas of interest include genomic and biomedical informatics, business and finance, and the entertainment industry.

  • Domain-specific data and ontology acquisition
  • Tuning of SeeqPod's relationship network algorithms for specialized applications
  • Intuitive presentation and visualization of results
  • Speed optimization and scalability of computational code
  • Work directly with the Chief Scientific Officer

Hours: Flexible. Minimum 10 hours per week for part time interns. Full time summer/fall positions preferred.

Requirements: Interest in knowledge discovery, search and recommendation technologies. Programming experience necessary. Ability to work in a Linux environment utilizing mySQL, Python and CGI. Additional useful skills include C++, Javascript, Ajax, Java applet or Flash development for the web.

Compensation: SeeqPod offers compensation in the range of $12 to $16 per hour depending on qualifications.
